I planted one is April. It has not done a thing. Do they take awhile to
get
established? I am in Connecticut, zone 6-but have my own microclimate. I
planted it in partial shade/sun and the soil has been amended. I have read
they take a long time to get going. I just want to make sure I have it in a
good place, if not I will make plans to move it next season.

I'm new to climbing hydrangeas. This is year two. I put in a small one --
about 10" of growth -- in late spring 1997 at the base of a large birch
stump in mostly shade. The first year it attached itself to the stump but
didn't **grow** at all. This year it grew about 18" and sent out 5-6 good
healthy shoots but no blooms. (I'm in BC Canada, Zone 6-8 -- many micros!)
I'd give it another season before finding a new home.
Regards, Donna.
