One really neat plant marker that I saw this past spring was simply clay
pot saucers, no bigger than three inches around, painted white. I don't
think I'd paint them, just use then a la natural. Someone I know uses
fabric paint to write on plant markers. If using plastic markers or
something else why can't you spray a clear coat of something to help
with the fading? Couldn't hurt to try.
