-Was out yesterday, driving past Franks and noticed that they were gathering
up perennials and putting them on their carts. Curiosity got the best of
me, so I turned around and went in. They were putting ALL of their $9.99
hostas on the cart to take to the dumpster! I went and talked to the
manager and asked if I could buy them for a nominal price and was told no.
Then I asked if I could go dumpster-diving and again I was told no. The
manager finally came back and said that I could buy them for 97 cents each
and I did just that. Also bought a whole slew of daylilies. Now, I just
have to plant all of them soon.
It amazes me that they would rather throw away plants than make some money
on them. There were probably a hundred at the dumpster, but I decided that
I shouldn't risk it. Can you imagine?
