Re: Seasons/was verbascum -Reply

Well, Minnesota would be a little too extreme for
me, too. I understand.

While Oregon is far from perfect, lots of rain, etc., it
does seem to be the "middle ground" of the
climates in this country. Definite winter seasons,
cold (relatively speaking -- seldom lower than a tad
below 0 where I am), but no hurricanes, blizzards,
tornados, rarely minor earthquakes, not overly hot
summers and usually spectacular springs and very
nice falls. Last frost date about mid-April (at night)
and NEVER snow after mid-March, never before
mid-November and usually only a few snow days in
Dec., Jan, Feb. We RARELY have a white
Christmas, so you wouldn't like it here!

But lots of gray days, rain, wind, but lots of GREEN,
GREEN, GREEN. It's a toss up, wherever you
choose to live, of what you're willing to live with.

For a rose grower and English garden lover, it's
pretty much heaven, though.

the flowers come together to praise the Lord and
teach all who look upon them to do likewise.

I know the feeling. I'm in Minnesota now (land of
winter and mud) but I
started out in California. I lived all over the country
as a child and
never thought too much of it then, but after I'd had
winters I got to the
point where I hate not having snow for Christmas.
It's like it's not
even a real holiday, just totally depressing and fake
feeling now.
Luckily, I'm in MN where we generally have snow for
every major holiday
except Independence Day! :)
I love the change, but I get so tired of winter lasting
so long and being
so cold. Today with wind chill it was 10 below, and
it's gonna be much
much worse.
