Re: seed starting tables



Unfortunately, this won't be very helpful except as a hint.  I forget the 
name of the premier issue of the magazine the plans were taken 
from, but my son-in-law built two-tiered racks from white PVC pipe.  
There are green plastic trays one can buy (I bought mine years ago 
from Park Seed) that will fit across the pipes used as the floor of 
each tier.  They are 2-3/4 inches deep and made for seeding 
directly.  Fluorescent (not grow lights which are much more 
expensive) tubes were suspended above each tier.  Four of the 
large-size trays would fit each tier.  Also, my daughter used the 
lights to grow African Violets, and she bought plastic, flat trays at 
Wal-Mart or some discount store for holding the pots.  By making 
the racks yourself, that keeps the cost way down.
