Val,  Always enjoy your posts.  I have never understood how seeds germinate
on top of a refrigerator because the top of mine feels cold to the touch.
Before I got my electric heating pad, I used to start seeds one flat at a
time on top of my VCR!  It is the perfect, warm to the touch temp for
germination.  But, WARNING, one must be extremely careful not to get water
in or on the VCR or TV. It could be a very costly experience.  Marilyn
