Re: Dirty Water


We have the same sort of rules here.  I live in a rural area, but the same
rules are applied as they are in town (leads to some pretty silly stuff-I
can have a hundred pigs in my front yard, but only three dogs-which would
you rather the neighbor kept).  We would not be allowed to use grey water
for irrigation-it all has to go into the septic system.  But on the other
hand the bylaw inspectors never get out here, and it would be easy enough to
put in a holding tank and a pump in the basement or some other location
without anyone finding out.  In town, where everybody seems to spend more
time minding the neighbor's business than their own, forget it.  Had thought
about it when we put in the new septic system, but frankly I don't think it
would be worth the possible headaches and fines if we did happen to be
inspected (say during tax assessment).
