Eremerus (sp?) - Foxtail lilies

I ordered some of these from a reputable nursery. When I went to plant
them, all there was in the bag was something like a walnut. As the
directions said to plant "the crown" -- I suspected something was wrong.

I called the company and they resent more plants. I went to plant them this
weekend and most of the "legs" (little tuber-like things) fell away from the
main body of this plant. I know they say to be "careful" when planting
this, but is this normal? Do I need to call for another replacement?
