Hello Duncan,
Could it be Mimosa pudica (Sensitive Plant/Touch-me-not)? It grows to
about 2', and when you touch the leaves they fold up; the leaves fold
naturally at night. It bears pink flower heads during the summer. Minimum
winter temperature is 60F. Compost should be kept moist, reduce watering
in winter. Mist leaves regularly.
