Well, Gene, like others, I have tried this lovely plant and failed on
two occasions. Had it stay around for two years once, but then
disappear. Have come to the conclusion that in my hot and humid
climate it needs shade, but not heavy shade (first loss) and it needs
soil that does not dry out (2nd loss).
I am fascinated by these plants and will try them again when I have a
spot ready that gets morning sun and is in really good, yet retentive
soil without severe competition from tree roots and that I can keep
sufficiently moist.
Believe these are plants who really prefer a cooler climate than I
have, but I have not killed them 3 times, so I will not give up
yet:-)
