Vivien, you must have magic soil.  I have never had a seedling :( and could sure use some.

This died over the winter here, too (zone 6).  Painter's Palette, on the other hand, does very well.  It seeds prolifically (and true) if not deadheaded, but sure lights up a dark corner.  It shows itself rather late in the spring; in fact, I wondered this year if I had lost it.  Ironic, considering the quantity I ended up with.
