According to the GRIN database, C. connata is an accepted species
name.  They say it is native to:

Asia-Temperate: China - Sichuan [s.w.], Xizang [s.e.], Yunnan [n.w.] 
Asia-Tropical: Bhutan; India - Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh,
Jammu and Kashmir, Sikkim, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal; Nepal;
Pakistan [n.]
