Cindy,

Try this link for several books on biome theory. There are five or six
divisions of the world climate, soil, all sorts of things, five or six
depending on what you read. The theory was not in my curriculum which was
light years ago. If you want to grow plants that will prosper in your
"biome" you would need to know just what the requirements are. All very
heady stuff, winter reading.

A google search gives a ton of information which is where I should have gone
instead of reading the book. I cannot recall the exact name. Google, today,
is filled with witches and goblins and the like, a distinct departure from
it's serious self.
