In the midwest the time has come to bring plants in from our porches and
gardens.
One plant that I dearly love is:
Evolvulus 'Hawaiian Blue Eyes'
Tender Perennial. Clear blue flowers with tiny white eyes grace
this little bloomer all summer. The narrow, lance shaped
leaves have a silver tone, and set off the flowers. It's a great choice
for a patio planter. Full to part sun. Height 12-14". Zone 10
It is sold here as an annual and most people just pitch it. It attains a
fair size in 1 year but I wanted to see whether it could actually become
a tender shrub. I've saved one for 3 years and another for 2 years just
in a sunny, west facing window. They have become larger and more
shrub-like with woody stems.
Is anyone willing to hazard a guess at how cold a temperature it could
withstand?
I'm not looking to kill them but to find a more convenient spot to keep
them!
Thanks,
Linda Wallpe
