Re: Overwintering annuals- OT!

ehum.... do we risk answering this question :) I have switched it to the proper OT! (Sorry could not resist)

Although you asked for off list comments... I have a hard time playing by the rules, so....
I think that annual and perennial should be the same list. Not all perennials are hardy everywhere, which then makes them an annual here. Everyone mixes both together in containers and such... it would be nice for this list to be able to offer suggestions for some cute combos. So list members... thinking it should be OK to talk annuals and perennials here? Thoughts anyone?

Chris, concerning your bringing in the plants:
Stick the asparagus fern in the bathroom. Mine over winters there well.
The vinca major- you should have stuck some under an evergreen tree. It will survive. I took some cuttings last month and stuck them under my bay window (east facing) kinda protected by the flower carpet roses. I have been doing this for three years. In the spring, I uproot and put in my annual pots. My friend sticks some under an evergreen and has not bought any in ten years and has enough to share. We are both in zone 5.

Never had any luck over wintering the other two.
