I like the idea of combing the list as well---I'm in zone 9 and some of what
you grow as perennails are simply winter/spring annuals for me...they die
come June.
Anyway - about your Ipomoea batata. You can literally grow cuttings of this
stuff in water all winter long - just pinch them every now and again. I have
a hanging "glass bulb starter" and that's what I use.
