Definitely bare ground for iris beds at least-if you don't want iris
borers, that is. They breed in the debris.
I don't want to think about my iris bed! I should have dug and divided a month ago and it is too late to do it now. My plan is start cutting back the foliage and doing a final weeding while I wait for the little one's bus.
