Re: Fertilizing


Being an organic gardener I use natural slow releasing methods for
fertilizing - well rotted cow manure (free from my wonderful  neighbour) and
home made compost (made from kitchen scraps, weeds, grass cuttings, regular
cutting from nettles etc). I apply a good mulch of the above every year to
my beds (usually in Spring) which gradually disappears into the soil. The
only time I use more concentrated organic fertilizer is when I'm planting or
dividing perennials - then I put a bit in the planting hole to get them off
to a good start.
