Re: Roses

I was never much for growing roses, either, figuring they were too much
work. My mother in law had hybrid teas and they were a LOT of work. So
for years I just didn't plant any. Then I discovered a wonderful
company out of Texas that sells 'antique' roses. (The Antique Rose
Emporium) I fell in love a hundred times, wandering through their
catalogue. Their descriptions were wonderful, their pictures even
better, and often they could give the background of a particular rose.
I bought one rose from them, a Souvenier de MaMassion (sp?) and I
absolutely loved it!!!!!! It was such a beautiful rose, with pale pink
scented double blooms that bloomed non stop from May through frost. And
absolutely no work whatsoever. Certainly far less than my "effortless"
(huh!) perennials!

I weep to think I had to leave it in Michigan. I just had no more room
in the car or truck to take many plants.
