Hi Devon
I am in zone 7 also and I have found about 5 hybrid teas and 2 or 3 English
Roses that are completely disease resistant and thrive in shade. Of course
they will be less vigorous and flower less, but they will still flower more
than most 'shade' plants. One is Artistry, HT; another is Eden, listed as a
climber or shrub rose, but actually looks like an old rose or English Rose; I
have a couple of others that I can get the name for you. Let me know what
kind of roses you are interested in. On the ones that I don't have the name,
maybe I can trade you cuttings for something. I am working on hybridizing
roses that will bloom well in the shade and are completely disease resistant.
Also for got to mention the polyanthas. I have tried two in the shade and
they give me hundreds of blossoms from summer to frost. One is 'The Fairy and
the other I am not sure is still in commerce. It is a red and has not
hundreds but thousands of flowers on all year in full shade.
