Re: Ornamental Grass


If you're in a cold winter climate, very early spring is best.  Oddly
enough, even the really tough ones like Miscanthus, die out if you try to
split them in fall.  

And, as others have said, Miscanthus can be a challenge. Broke a really
good spade on a clump once, now I use an ax.  Talk about tough, fibrous
root systems!
