Re: UNDrabby fall gardens -Reply

There are two front of the border shrubs that are getting popular
here in Western Ky. One is the dwarf forsthia and the other is a dwarf
crape mryle. Both are low growing have a nice neat habit and beautiful
blooms They are well worth the cost. The ones I've seen around are
still fresh looking. These will be new additions to my front flowerbed
this fall.
Most of you may have a border, or bed that are typical, low in front,
high in back. I have a whole different ball game going. My front
flowerbed is approx. 60' long and up to as much as 12' wide, devided by
a rocked up drainage ditch that is up to 4' wide in places. Only 6' of
this entire bed is in full sun. It doesn't have a front or back and is
seen from all four sides. So I can get away with mixing my tall and
short plants together. It makes for an interesting design and flow.
