Re: Vitex angus-castus

Hal,
The Vitex is WONDERFUL, big and lush with lots of BLUE blooms (I love
blue flowers!). If it gets to big just prune it back, it should bloom
all summer and into the fall.
Once yours is established your gonna love it, too. You can prune it
into a tree from (which I have done) or let it go bushy. It seems to
bloom off of new growth, and will send up new shoots from the base of
the plant each spring. The berrys it makes can be steeped to make a tea
which is used to help with menopause (which I know you don't need, but
others might be interested in). I need to move a tree peony that is
next to mine, but other than that I have no complaints about this plant.
I forgot that I have a Buddleia (white flowers) next to it and the
combination of blooms is great! Sometimes accidents can be good! Just
stick it in the ground, let it do it's thing, sit back and enjoy the
show (it is worth the trip to Montgomery where I bought mine).
