Don't discourage him from planting tulips--anything that gets someone else
interested in gardening is a good thing! And we all have our individual
tastes as I'm sure some of the people on this list are not enthusiastic about
your color scheme (I like it though). But if you can persuade him to consider
grouping those tulips a little rather than lining them up like soldiers in a
row, you'll have a better effect. Tell him they'll have more impact if
they're grouped. Maybe a cluster of 3 in this spot and 5 over there and 3
right over here. Tell him he's wasting his money if they're not making a
statement. And there might be efficiencies in labor in grouping them.
You've got to make these appeals to the way men think, you know. Don't waste
the money, be practical, efficient, logical. Let us know how he ends up
planting them.
