[Fwd: inquiring minds want to know]

this post was intended for the list (to include everyone that gave me
such good advice)

To Everyone

have read your thought on planting my poppy seed, and everyone seem to
agree that planting on top of the mulch is the best route to take.
so everyone, pray that I get 2 plants from ever seed. Tom I don't
understand the 1/2 next spring, 3/8 ths the following spring and so
on., but I like that idea. and to the statement of being rich and
haveing lots of time. Well we are far from being rich, but my
husband is retired and I haven't worked in several years, so we have
plenty of time on our hands and gardening is one of the things we like
most, we spend most of our time in the veggie garden and the yard, and
we both enjoy it so much, and I like to plant for color. I love to
mix colors. and am trying to redo my beds so that I have something
blooming from spring thru fall.
it's amazing how much I have learned about gardening from the people on
this list. before I joined I gardened by the seat of my pants, you
wouldn't believe how many plants I've killed just because I didn't have
a clue as to what I was doing.
so, thanks to all of you for the advice (I will follow it) and I
hope next spring I can post to the list and brag about my beautiful
poppies.
and Linda, I think in my area the poppies will bloom first and will
bloom for quite some time (this past spring was my first time for
poppies) and then the stella de ore will start and they will bloom
into the summer months, then the lilies will start about the 2nd week
in May and will continue thru July. I'm looking for some that will
start in July and bloom into the fall. I guess you can tell I'm a
lilie fan. I'm a lover of just about every blooming plant. I believe
I have a good selection of blooming plant from spring into the fall,
but need more of a selection for fall. it will come in time. or, as
I can afford it. these things take time.
I try new things every year, this past year it was poppies and
ginger. when I see something new, I fall in love and have to have at
least (1) the best thing about perennials is if you buy a bulb or
tuber or a plant that reseeds and multiplies, before you know it you
have zillion of them. A friend gave me a cutting of the Butterfly
ginger and the Hidden ginger this past early summer and already I have a
new baby form each. One day soon I will be able to share with my
friends and relatives. There are so many plants that I want, plants
that I don't have. Some day soon.

Thanks again for the advice
