Feeding Acidanthera bulbs

Hi all,
When my acidantheras only produced one blossom from 10 bulbs 
in pots, I was really dissapointed.

I suppose the reason was that for most of the summer they were 
stashed in shade in my pot ghetto. 

Now I wonder how I can help them do better next year.  Will feding 
them now help?   Probably it's too late.  Nitrogen in the spring?
I'd appreciate your input!
