To add the literary information for "Tree of Heaven". It is the title tree
of "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn" by Betty Smith, a well-known coming of age
story of a young girl living in a tenement. It's been many years since I
read it but it seems to me that the tree which was growing in a concrete
yard was pointed out to the little girl in the story by her father as
representing endurance, toughness, and perseverance - it sure sounds
accurate!
