The purple fountain grasses are sold as annuals here.  You can buy new plants 
each year at a small price as they are grouped with annuals.  I have never 
succeeded in keeping one over the winter in a pot stored frost-free.  Buy the 
largest plant you can find and it will mature and flower in the same summer.
