What ate my Campanula?

Hi All,

I recently purchased a few Campanula Carpatica 'Deep Blue Clips'
(overflowing 1 gallon pots). Over about a two week period something has
eaten all the foliage off of all of them. Just stems left. One plant was
eaten almost immediately. It was at least a week or more before the
others were munched. Nothing else in this particular garden has been
destroyed like this. Just remembered I had the same thing happen earlier
this summer to all my Coreopsis 'Goldfink' in a garden on the other side
of the house. Again, the Coreopsis is the only thing in this garden that
has been eaten, not even the Campanula glomerata.

Any ideas as to what insect/varmit has been this selective? I would
imagine it is safe to assume that the Campanulas will not survive.

Thanks,
Karen
