I couldn't resist a 40% off sale at a local nursery recently and
brought home four shrubs and four perennials. Two of the shrubs I had been
looking for anyway (great excuse), the Wine and Roses Weigela and Henry's
Garnet sweetspire (Itea virginica), but I wound up getting a Viburnum juddi
and a lilac with the strangest foliage (more like that of a threadleaf
coreopsis!) called Syringa lacinata. Does anyone have information about any
of these?
Oh, yes, some lovely shade perennials too: a toad lily (tricyrtis
formosiana, I think), a phlox divaricata named Plum Pudding (and presumably
with plum-colored fragrant flowers), the Chocolate Chip ajuga, and a lovely
variegated Japanese grass named something like Hakelonia??
