Re: some questions

Re: #8 "Zebrina"

In zone 6 this is a reseeder for me. I have a stray seedling or two that
pop up in the weirdest of places, but since their blooms are so unique, I
leave them be.

Re: #6 "Blue Mist"

Again, in my zone this is marginal. It usually dies back to the ground in
a normal winter, but will spring back to life and grow swiftly. Since we
have had very mild winters for the past three years, my plant has been
doing great. I would protect it as you would a rose its first year and
then it should be OK the following years after it's established.

Re: #2 persicaria

I had the same cultivar and since I was tired of looking at so much foliage
and such an insignificant little spike of bloom, I gave it to someone else.
I've since read where you need a lot of this to make an impact. Otherwise,
there are showier varieties that I'm sure someone else can recommend. It
was hardy here in my zone, poor little thing, so it was a hard decision to
let it go. It just didn't do much for me -- I love bright splashes of
color.

Hope some of this helps you.
