That rudbeckia may be rudbeckia nitida if it is a species and not a cultivar.
Rudbecka nitida fits your description. If it is nitida, I think it a first
class plant blooming late in the summer and lasting a long time. There will
be many seedlings in the spring if you allow the entire plant to mature. It
is a biennial here.
