The indoor warmth would certainly help sometimes, but the daffodils you named
were tazettas and/or jonquils. These are typically fragrant, unlike most of
the other types (divisions) of daffodils. In terms of genetics, I think
they're closer to the fragrant species daffodils than most of the more modern
cultivars. Buy 'Sweetness', a yellow jonquil, for a real nice whiff!
