Hummiungbird moths - We saw a bunch more of them this year than in the past,
so my hubby did a web search earlier this summer - I thought they were
really neat till he told me that they are the moth form of tomato hornworms
! (when the hornworm matures it turns into one of these !). And that
explains why we had more this year - I hadn't been to my veggie garden for
several days this summer, but sent hubby over to pick cherry tomatoes. He
told me that hornworms had hit us big time, and that he had picked off all
the ones he could see and threw them into the tall grass behind the garden
(without killing them ...hmmmm- - I think that they just crawled back into
the garden and continued to munch away, cause I sure found enough of them
the next couple of days. ).
