Re: fried clematis

I guess we won't really know for sure until next year whether we've got plants that have recovered from clematis wilt or dead clematis.

I wonder if this is the same type of thing that killed my rhubarb. It was healthy and gorgeous and then one day began to turn black and melted away to nothing. My extension agent said it was probably crown rot. It sure left an awfully big hole!

At least the clematis hole will be smaller if it is indeed dead!
