One only has to go to any major nursery that is producing field grown perennials to see *all* the shade lovers being produced in the open sunshine. ;-) Acres and acres of hosta and you-name-it - all rowed out and grown under irrigation. They do make great clumps - if not pretty ones - in a relatively short period of time. Goes to prove the range of plants is much wider than we give them credit for.
