Spring is best -a few weeks after new growth has started, but most sedum's
are tough plants and can be done any time of the year. Cuttings done in
midsummer work very well again for most types. If you want a large row of
upright sedum's, make cuttings in midsummer and lay the tall stems down in a
shallow row and lightly cover the stems but leave the leaves above the soil,
water each day for a few weeks. The stems will root at each leaf axial and
two new plants will grow from each node (this way you can get 10-18 plants
per stem with little real work). The second year they should be divided so
they do not smother each other out.
