In my previous garden most of my leaves were oak too. And I never noticed any 
problem from using compost from those leaves. Oak leaves may be a bit more 
leathery than say maple leaves, but if you shred them up, they decompose 
pretty well. If you don't shred, it's just going to take longer to get them 
composted.
