RE: Drying Sedum Autumn Joy/ Sedums of all types

Erica's Alpines & Perennials [alpines@nycap.rr.com]

Gene: My friends and I just had a full day yesterday of making trough
gardens in my backyard. We made 15 in all. We used all types of forms
from plastics bowls or Styrofoam pieces. We did a few deep ones and a
few shallow ones for succulents. I had ordered the neatest little book
on from the above address for members of our garden club for only $5
each. One I ordered was "Handbook on Troughs" from the North American
Rock Garden Society. There are really good pictures and very simple
instructions on how to construct the troughs with different formulas to
mix. I really like the book especially for a beginner or advanced trough
maker. Hope this information is helpful to you.

can't see your hand in front of your face. We've had beautiful fall
type weather with the deep blue skies and cool days and nights.

I do not have an answer for you Bob, but I do have a question on Sedums.
Actually I suppose it is on hardy succulents since it involves hens
and
chick, sedums, just about anything that resembles a hen and chick. My
wife
has become fascinated by these for her hypertufa troughs. I purchased a
book
for her, but it is far too advanced and not enough good photographs. Can
anyone recommend some good web sites with lots of photos and detailed
information. Cultivation, ID, propagation, etc? Book titles that others
found easily read and filled the bill for a beginner?
Would appreciate any assistance from fellow sedum lovers.
