New Hampshire and southern Ontario aren't quite the same but we can get pretty severe winters (or not depending on how Mother Nature is feeling in any particular year)...I love to plant and divide in the fall. Ground stays warmer than you might think. But since we're having 100 + degree heat and even worse awful humidity at the moment, think I'll wait til the weather breaks. Then I'm going to move my Senna and a new Canadian Shield shrub rose. Maybe a few hostas. I’ve gotten pretty good at that part, but several look like they’re ready for division and refreshing. Do it now, late September in a New Hampshire garden or wait until spring. And, the turkeys are using the garden as a dust bath. Any ideas on how to discourage them? Hope every one had a great growing season Cheryl --------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE PERENNIALS |
