I would have to nominate Asters as my number one favorite for the fall
garden.
Aster Frikartii starts blooming her in July and contines well into November.
The
other types (novi-belgii or novae-angliae) seem to bloom later and shorter in
duration for me. The taller types make great cut flowres to. Next year I will
have
gloriosa daisys as well .They compliment the lavenders and purples of the
Asters
very nicely..Hope this helps!
