Greetings to all!
I am a new sunscriber, and have spent a few days in the archives reviewing
past posts and noted a few familiar names from the gardens list .I had to
drop
that list as it was just to unwieldy( volume wise,) although i enjoyed it
alot!
I garden in the Northern Calif wine country area -USDA zone 9, Sunset zone
14,
a fairly diverse region micro-climate wise . Here you might see peonys
,bougainvilla,
delphiniums and hibiscus all in the same yard-albiet the bougainvillas might
freeze
one year and the delphiniums might fry the next! My garden is in a small
(unfortunately) suburban lot, and much to my hubbys horror I continue to
encroach
slowly upon the lawn.Who needs lawn anyway? You can't putter in it, and you
have to bend way to far over to get a really good look at it - not to
mention the fact that if you get tired of it in one spot , it's a bit awkward
to move it to another ! Give me asters, phlox and roses any day.
Good Gardening to all- from Kathy In The Beautiful Napa Valley
