The cosmos is an annual; but for me, it behaves like a perennial because it
reseeds itself without fail, although the resulting plants are all one
shade of magenta. It tends to get weedy with time, each year bringing
flowers of lesser quality, i.e., smaller blooms and more floppy stems.
As for your other question, I'm thinking of alliums. Other list members?
