Wow, do you have questions! Well, I have a brief answer. I treat my
perennial in the pot the same as if it were in the ground. After it dies
off, cut it back and leave it alone all winter (still outside). Then it will
come up in the Spring when it is ready.
Will your potted perennials continue to grow and bloom or do they die off a
certain time of the year? Especially in Southern California. One of my
favorite areas (my cousin lives in San Diego).
