I have used the metal markers for "long-term" plantings (trees, shrubs,
etc.) I write the plant identification and year planted with a china
marker. So far, the ones I put out in 1994 are still present and
legible. I have had some problems with my husband and the lawn mower,
but, as you say, that's another issue!
