avacado tree? bush?

Ok, so I'm a native to Washington and I've never seen an Avacado grow.  The
thing is I took one of the seeds and figured what the heck.  The plant
looks like it wants to be a tree but I'm not sure.  It's about 2ft tall at
this point and in a pot in the greenhouse.  So, the question is, if I can
keep it going through the winters here will it ever have fruit on it?  The
seed just came from a Haas Avacado at the grocery store.  Plus...well...do
they grow as bushes or trees?
