Hi Cathy, it is not too late to plant your iris. Whether they will bloom
next year is questionable. It all depends on the root system they can
establish. Ideal transplant time is July and August - so that there is
sufficient time to establish roots. Here in zone 6, that isn't a problem.
Some bone meal might be OK but I wouldn't fertilize otherwise.
