The revenge of the daisys

>> Wouldn't you know..my mystery plant that has kept me guessing all
summer turns out to be a weed. I think I'll take up knitting instead
of gardening.!!<<

Yes, Jeanne, groundsel (Senecio vulgaris) can get 5' tall. It's a member of
the composite family, also known as the --tah dah -- daisy family.

Ah ha! There you have it! You cursed those sweet, harmless, little daisys
and they sent their ugly, big, mean cousin to get revenge. Let this be a
lesson to you -- you just can't fool with Mother Nature!

Before you take up knitting, here's a word of comfort: A weed, by definition,
is any plant growing where it is not wanted'. If you decide you WANT this
mystery-plant-come-lobelia-come-groundsel in your garden, then it is NOT a
weed afterall. Maybe it won't look so bad if you knit little yellow flowers
to stick on it.
