I've never heard of it before, but you might ask Jeanne...my guess is
it's regular chalk that she put a curse on.

I've pulled up several groundsel plants this year, after they went to
seed and I figured out that they weren't flowers. You're not alone--but
I'd appreciate it if you'd leave my lobelia alone, poor things have
barely survived the summer as it is! :-)
