Even if a dog doesn't smell another dog, there is the lure of the stone
pole.
I think a small sign with a circle around a dog lifting it's leg on the
pole and an X over it might be worth planting near there.
I own four dogs and I know you just cannot reason with a dog, but the
owners help might be able to be solicited!
